Mauritius Island

So many couples in Lebanon make a very big deal out of their wedding parties and invest huge amounts of (often borrowed) money in the dress, the venue, the food, the photos and the souvenirs, and couldn’t care less to invest in a real honeymoon. Although a Lebanese wedding party usually lasts only for 3,5 hours and a honeymoon creates memories of 10 to 14 days! For us, the honeymoon had to be on an island. The top three island destinations booked in Lebanon are probably the Seychelles, the Maldives and Mauritius. After two failed attempts of getting married in a maldives-friendly season, we finally married in June and spent our honeymoon on Île Maurice. We didn’t meet Maurice nor Dodo (an extinct flightless bird from there) but we really loved the mountains, the wide variety of beautiful flowers, the birds at our breakfast table, the botanical garden, the friendliness of the people and of course the beaches. You certainly know how hard it is to go back to work after a vacation… It’s 100 times harder when you’re coming back from an island, especially from one like this!
